The valley of Tang in Central Bhutan : The valley of Tang, irrigated by the river of the same name, is one of four valleys of Bumthang, province of central Bhutan, in 2 days of road of the capital of the country Thimbu. The height is of 2800 3000 meters, the cold and dry climate there the winter, rainy the summer.. The valley of Tang is still relatively poor with regard to the other valleys of Bumthang, the isolated valley, towards the North, it remains away from the axis the main West-East of the country, there is nor tarred road, the electricity just comes to arrive there and there is only a single free health center for all the valley.
The schools of Kharab and Misey Tang: Kharab and Misey Tang, in the valley of Tang, are two schools under the aegis of the Bhutanese ministry of Education. They welcome approximately 300 children, stemming from a rural environment, families of farmers, sharecroppers. Most of the children walk between 1 am and 3 am a day to go to the school through fields and forests. Often of night and under the bad weather, with the possibility of meetings with wild dogs, wild boars and bear, but the education is seen as the key of the social success by the parents who had no it. It is the only school on a shelf of more than 10 kilometers. The government gives some basic stationery as books, but the rest must be bought by the parents who still have no it the means. After a fund raising with a school of Strasbourg and Bordeaux DX Group, completed by individual donations of some French and foreign OM, we have in Thimbu bought by the sports equipments that we then offered to the schools of Kharab and Misey Tang during our journey in Bumthang on Thursday, November 20th.
